Foreword · CEO

"A streaming-native, public-service-minded network for a 200M-strong audience."

This outlook describes what BCN is, what it will do in its first year, and the standards it holds itself to. We have drawn deliberately on the form of the public-service annual report — a tradition that has held national broadcasters to account for nearly a century — because BCN sees its work in that lineage. We are a private company building a public network: editorially independent, financially disciplined, and culturally accountable to the audience it exists to serve.

The Juneteenth 2026 launch from the Obama Presidential Center is not a marketing flourish. It is a statement of intent. Juneteenth is now federal law. The Obama Presidential Center is the most significant new civic institution of the decade. BCN's ancestry belongs there.

1 · Strategy

Chapter one

BCN's strategy rests on four pillars that, taken together, set us apart from both legacy Black-targeted media and general-market streaming services.

Streaming-native by design

BCN launches directly on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Xbox, Mobile & Tablet (iOS & Android) and Smart TVs (75+ Brands) — the platforms where connected-TV audiences already live. There is no cable bundle to defend, no broadcast license to amortize, and no legacy infrastructure to maintain.

Public-service editorial standards

BCN journalism operates to standards of accuracy, impartial treatment of subjects, source verification, and accountability. These are the standards of public-service broadcasting applied to a Black editorial perspective that mainstream U.S. broadcast has historically under-served.

AI-powered production

A unified production stack of ChatGPT, Copilot and Claude lets a lean BCN team produce at legacy-network volume and cinematic quality. We treat AI as a force-multiplier for human editorial judgement — never a substitute.

Six revenue streams per show

Every show is built around six revenue streams: advertising, licensing & syndication, streaming-platform revenue share, product placement, merchandising, and AI tech licensing. This is the economic substrate that makes BCN's growth projections both achievable and defensible.

2 · Public Purpose

3 · Programming

Chapter three · 20+ originals

4 · Finance

Chapter four

BCN's financial model is conservative by industry standards and attributes revenue on a per-show basis across six identified revenue streams.

Revenue stream breakdown

  • Advertising — pre-sold sponsor packages
  • Licensing & Syndication — content licensed to broadcast partners, HBCUs, and international outlets
  • Streaming Platforms — revenue share from Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Xbox, Mobile & Tablet (iOS & Android) and Smart TVs (75+ Brands)
  • Product Placement — brand integrations built into each show
  • Merchandising — show-branded merchandise
  • AI Tech Licensing — proprietary workflow licensing to media partners

BCN distribution adds further domestic and international revenue, with a subscription tier planned to follow the launch.

5 · Audience & Reach

Chapter five

BCN's addressable audience is structured in three concentric tiers.

Core · 47M+ Black Americans

The primary domestic audience. Currently under-served by streaming-native news and culture programming and disproportionately under-invested by general-market advertising — brands spend less than 3% of media budgets on Black-owned media.

Diaspora · 200M+ globally

BCN's international audience across Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and Black communities worldwide. Reached at launch via bronzevillecommonsnetwork.com, and at scale through the developing Global Africa Media Networks partnership.

Buying power · $1.9T

The combined buying power of the U.S. Black consumer market — a structural underweight in U.S. advertising spend that represents a primary commercial opportunity for BCN's distinctly-positioned ad inventory.

6 · Governance

Chapter six

BCN is headquartered in Miami. News bureaus operate in Chicago & Miami. Editorial independence is maintained through a documented separation between commercial and editorial decision-making, modelled on public-service broadcasting practice.

Editorial firewall

News programming is produced and edited independently of sponsorship and ad-sales operations. Sponsor identification is disclosed on a per-show basis; sponsored content is labelled as such and held to the same source-verification standards as editorial.

Board of Advisors · Senior Executive Media Advisors

BCN's advisory board draws from generations of media leadership — legacy media, OTT, and now AI-powered media — bridging media generational connectivity. Shared and shaped together through the lens of the African Ancestral diaspora.

7 · Sustainability & Cultural Impact

Chapter seven

BCN measures its cultural impact alongside its financial performance. Three indicators frame our public reporting:

  • Representation — % of on-air talent, contributors and behind-camera roles held by Black creators across the slate.
  • HBCU & youth pipeline — students, creators and journalists trained and credited via BCN partnerships per year.
  • Diaspora reach — countries with BCN streaming availability and active partnership content.

Environmental footprint

BCN's streaming-native, AI-augmented production model carries a materially lower footprint than legacy network production: fewer studio shoots, lower travel, virtual production environments, and shared infrastructure across the slate.
