Mission
To inform, represent, and serve 47 million Black Americans and the 200-million-strong global diaspora with a streaming-native network built to public-service editorial standards and modern technology economics.
Origin
BCN is named for Bronzeville (The Great Migration) — the historic Chicago neighborhood that taught generations how to build culture, commerce and civic life on their own terms. The Bronzeville name honors that lineage. BCN extends it to a national, streaming-first audience.
Where we are
BCN is headquartered in Miami. News bureaus to be established to initially operate in Chicago & Miami, then expand to international news bureau partnerships through FY27. The Juneteenth 2026 launch broadcast originates from the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago — the most significant new civic "African American Diaspora" institution of the decade and a fitting first for a network of BCN's purpose.
How we work
We are streaming-native — built for Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Xbox, Mobile & Tablet (iOS & Android) and Smart TVs (75+ Brands) — the platforms where connected-TV audiences already live. We are AI-augmented — a unified production stack of ChatGPT, Copilot and Claude allows a lean team to ship at legacy-network volume without legacy-network cost. We are economically diversified — every show carries six revenue streams from the first episode.
Editorial standards
BCN journalism operates to public-service standards: accuracy, impartial treatment of subjects, source verification, and accountability — applied to a Black editorial perspective that mainstream broadcast has historically under-served. The corrections process is public; the editorial firewall between newsroom and commercial operations is documented.
Leadership
BCN has assembled a "Dream Team" Executive Team leading the first streaming-native Black (Multicultural) news network geared to the African Diaspora, launching Juneteenth 2026 from the Obama Presidential Center. The team brings combined expertise across journalism, content development, AI-powered production, distribution, and media business operations, with public-service editorial standards and cultural fluency at the center of BCN's mission.
